Sophia Iris West, child of Artemis and Wally West, was born on October 3rd, 2019. She was introduced to the heroes of the Justice League and of Young Justice when she was five. As the daughter of the fastest man alive, she herself was a speedster. She encountered development issues early in her life, which counted toward why she wasn't introduced to the other heroes until late. The problems were solved and corrected in time for her to start preschool and to go on with her life.
She started training with her mother when she was eight, two years before she was let out to run around town with her father. Sophia was trained to run as well as to fight with a bow and arrows.
When she was finally let out with her father she refused to take up the mantel as Kid Flash or Impulse, instead she wanted to make a name for herself thus she became TrackStar. Her first few outings with her father was mostly uneventful. He had her stand aside as he fought to show her how they were to deal with criminals and the public.
Things went differently when she decided to go out on her own, convinced that she could take down some criminals without her father's help, when he father told her that they weren't going out. Unfortunately, she had no idea that there was a specific reason as to why neither of her parents were going out that night.
A few months before a rogue assassin had begun targeting Leaguers and Team members, successfully killing a few of them before they could radio for help. Artemis had spotted the assassin the night before and had warned her husband not to go out and risk both himself and their daughter.
TrackStar was oblivious to the danger until she came face to face with the assassin, who knocked her out before the speedster could even process a thought. It wasn't long until her parents figured out something was wrong, given that Sophia wasn't in bed when Artemis went to check on her.
They easily tracked down the spot were the assassin cornered their daughter. One of TrackStar's green gloves was discarded off to the side of the street, the same one that had a locator chip hidden in the cuff. The frantic parents quickly contacted the league and updated them on the situation. With the help Young Justice and a few of their close friends they managed to track down where their daughter was being held and undoubtedly tortured.
They split into two equally matched groups, one group to get the speedster out safely, the other to capture the assassin if possible. The first team was able to get in and get the half unconscious speedster out without any farther harm to her, but along the way a few of the younger heroes were heavily wounded and immediately pulled out. Once TrackStar was out and secured the second team moved in so the rest of the first team could get out. The second team was ambushed by other rogues that were hiding away, waiting for both Artemis and the Flash to be in the building. The two heroes were separated from the others and cut off. Communications were jammed and Miss Martian was flying TrackStar to the hospital. The heroes were forced into a room, which locked behind them.
It wasn't until a while later that the rogues had been taken care of. Out of the heroes left standing of team two, they all fanned out to locate their missing comrades. Unfortunately, they were found dead and the assassin was long gone. It was evident that the two heroes hadn't gone down with a fight, probably fighting until their last breath left their bodies.
Sophia's life was never the same after that. The girl was left with several angry scars, mostly on her back and ankles when she was tortured and immobilized. When she was released from the hospital Dick took her in before she could be put up for adaption, still not convinced that the assassin was going to leave the scarred, traumatized speedster alone.
She moved to Wayne Manor in Gotham and joined Young Justice soon after. When the league went through the West's household for the last time they found something that was hidden away some where that no one would find until it was emptied and gone through by the league. Seeing as it had a note attached saying to give it to Sophia it found, Dick gave it to the speedster on her thirteenth birthday, only a few days after it was found. She was confused on why her parents had left her a watch, an expensive one at that, and it wasn't even her style. She wore it anyways, only taking it off when she went swimming or took a shower.
A few months later, on the anniversary of her parents death she was going through everything her parents had left her. She found a video message hidden away at the bottom of the box that had contained the watch. It was of her parents explaining how they most of passed away if she was watching it, how they were sorry for leaving her, and that she shouldn't blame herself in anyway. They also explained the purpose of the watch and how it could send one back to the time they set the watch to, but it only had one charge left so if she went anywhere that was it, she was stuck in whatever time period she went back to. Her mother explained how Wally had designed it after an incident back before they got married.
By the time the message ended Sophia was already formulating a plan on how she was going to use the watch to save her parents. She didn't care that she wasn't going to be able to jump back to her time and see them, she just wanted them to live.
She didn't make the jump back in time until she was sixteen. She jumped back, aiming for a few days before the first time the assassin killed, but she miscalculated and was sent back to 2016 instead. She was now stuck, having used up the watch's last charge. She still wore the watch as a reminder of what will happen if she doesn't take care of that assassin once of for all.
Beyond the lies, beneath the deception, the truth will surface.
